I spent most of my adult life playing in the outdoors and connecting with nature in the mountains of Northern California. It was there that I was introduced to the practice of Yoga, Pilates, and Tai Chi and opened the door to the spiritual part of my life journey.  But it wasn’t until I moved back to Australia that I was ready to really explore that deeper and expand my practice beyond just the physical aspect.

 

My background as a fitness trainer has given me an appreciation for the importance of a strong core and safe, functional movement, so when I was seeking a yoga teacher training course, I knew it had to incorporate the conscious movement and body awareness that Pilates offers.  Thankfully, I found Yogalates™, which has a strong emphasis on the breath and is designed to awaken and strengthen the deep postural muscles using Pilates based exercises while incorporating the asana (poses), philosophy and wisdom of Yoga.  

Recently I have completed a 500 hour Level One and Two certification in teaching the Solomon Yogalates™ Method.

 

I am honoured to be joining the experienced group of yogis at Studio Yamba and excited to share this practice with the community.  As a busy mum, I understand the challenges of balancing the “doing” with simply “being” so I aim to create a restorative and rejuvenating practice that will encourage you to listen to the wisdom of your own body and nurture your connection between mind, body and spirit.
